Connecting Your IDX Provided Site to Your Domain
As an elite client, your IDX provided site is an essential tool for managing your listings and providing a seamless experience for your clients. However, in order to fully utilize this feature, you'll need to connect it to your domain (e.g. www.yourdomain.com ). This article will guide you through the process of setting up Top level and A DNS records to connect your IDX provided site to your domain.
For subdomains (i.e. properties.yourdomain.com):
They must create a DNS CNAME record:
- Type: CNAME
-
Name: subdomain (ie properties)
-
Target: subdomains.idxbroker.com
Once you successfully create the CNAME record, you will need to update the “Custom Domain” field in Middleware. When logged in navigate to Account > Details
-
-
Add your chosen Name to the Custom Domain field (i.e. properties)
-
See the screenshot below as an example:
-
For top-level (root) domains (i.e. www.yourdomain.com ):
- Type: CNAME
- Name: @
- Target: subdomains.idxbroker.com
- Example CNAME record for top-level domain - screenshots below:
Once you successfully create the CNAME record, you will need to update the “Custom Domain” field in Middleware. When logged in navigate to Account > Details
-
-
-
-
Add your top-level domain to the Custom Domain field (i.e. yourdomain.com)
-
See the screenshot below as an example:

For Host Records (i.e. yourdomain.com ):
For GoDaddy hosting this platform does not allow CNAME records to have an @ value for the name, the process is slightly different from Top Level domain options above.
Create an A record in DNS settings:
- Type: A
- Name: yourdomain.com (A Record option)
- Value: 34.150.135.149
Once you successfully create the A record, you will need to update the “Custom Domain” field in Middleware. When logged in navigate to Account > Details
-
-
-
-
Add your domain to the Custom Domain field (i.e. yourdomain.com)
-
See the screenshot below as an example:

Disclaimer: When setting up an A record for your DNS, please note that any other records related to @ names and www names will need to be removed from the DNS in order for these newly created records to work.
Middleware settings:
NOTE: For root domains without a subdomain “Enable HTTPS” will not currently work in this form due to the current validation of the Custom Domain field. In order to enable HTTPS for your custom domains, please reach out to the support team and request them to manually set up for HTTPS. Please send these requests to Help@idxbroker.com subject Elite- HTTPS request
