Create a Neighborhood Widget

A neighborhood widget puts one piece of neighborhood content, like a neighborhood hero image, a map, or nearby schools, on any page you choose. Pick a neighborhood, pick the piece you want, and add it to your site. It is a fast way to show local knowledge on a specific page.

This feature is available on the Engage and Elite plans.

• You need an Engage or Elite plan.

• You will search by US zip code. Neighborhood data covers US areas only.

• Each widget shows one neighborhood and one widget type. If you want the full set of neighborhood sections on a single page, use a neighborhood page template instead (see the neighborhood page article).

1. Go to Design > Widgets > New, then click Create New.

2. Find the Neighborhood card and click Create Widget.

3. In the Zip Code field, enter a zip code and click Search.

4. Open the Neighborhood dropdown and choose the neighborhood you want.

5. In the Widget Name field, give the widget a name you will recognize later. A name that includes the neighborhood, zip, and type helps, for example "Yesler Terrace (98104) Hero."

6. Under Widget Type, choose the piece you want to show: Neighborhood Hero, Neighborhood Map, Neighborhood Highlights, Neighborhood Characteristics, or Neighborhood Schools. A live preview appears on the right when you select a type.

7. Click Save at the bottom to create the widget.

• The neighborhood list comes from Local Logic, not from us. Local Logic decides which neighborhoods are tied to each zip code. If you do not see the neighborhood you expected, it is because Local Logic has not mapped it to that zip. We cannot add or rename neighborhoods.

• One widget shows one neighborhood and one type. You cannot combine types in a single widget. To show several sections for a neighborhood together on one page, use a neighborhood page template.

• The preview updates as you choose. Selecting a different widget type on the left changes the preview on the right, so you can see what you are adding before you save.

• Every widget shows a "Powered by Local Logic" credit. That is expected and cannot be removed.

My zip search does not show the neighborhood I want. The neighborhood options come from Local Logic. Try the zip code the neighborhood actually sits in, since boundaries do not always match what you expect. If it still is not listed, Local Logic has not mapped it, and we cannot add it.
