On May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) took effect, replacing the Data Protection Directive in the European Union. The overall goal of GDPR is to update the privacy laws regarding data protection for EU citizens, addressing the ways in which data is stored, collected, and handled today. As a result, not adhering to these new regulations may result in significant fines for any business that collects data in or from Europe.

In response to these new regulations, we have taken steps to ensure that you have the knowledge and tools necessary to be compliant with GDPR. In regards to your IDX Broker account, we have created a new feature that will allow you to provide a link to your GDPR privacy policy in an obvious location on your IDX Broker pages.
To add this, log into your IDX control panel and click Design in the main menu, Settings in the submenu, then Global. From there, click on the Other tab and scroll down to Privacy Policy Settings.
Insert the link to your privacy policy page and then click Save Changes below. Once you do that, there will be an obvious banner on any of your IDX Broker pages which will link to your privacy policy.
This will adhere to the rules of GDPR compliance and help you continue using your IDX Broker service to provide listing data to your users.
Note: This notice will only display on your IDX Broker pages and will not be visible on pages hosted on your website. You will need to ensure that the rest of your pages adhere to the new GDPR standards to be compliant.
We have provided links for example templates and best practices below to reference when creating your own GDPR compliant privacy policy page. Please refer to the following links for more information:
