How to Set Up Your IXACT Contact Account and Agent Website via IDX Broker SSO

This guide is for customers who signed up through IDX Broker with a bundled IXACT Contact and agent website package. It walks through your first sign-in — from IDX Broker, over SSO, into IXACT Contact — through creating your IXACT Contact Agent Website.


Prerequisites

  • An IDX Broker account with an IXACT Contact and agent website bundle package (for example, IDX Core + IXACT CRM or IDX Engage + IXACT CRM).
    • Need to add IXACT CRM? Log in to your IDX Broker Dashboard and navigate to the Upgrade Center to change your IDX Broker package.  
  • If your account is new: Your IDX Broker welcome email, which contains your login credentials. You'll also receive separate emails confirming initial billing and next steps for MLS approval — keep an eye out for all three.

Steps

1. Sign in to IDX Broker and connect to IXACT Contact via SSO (first time only)

  1. Log in to IDX Broker using the credentials from your welcome email.
  2. Select the IXACT CRM tab within your IDX Broker Dashboard.
  3. Accept the authorization prompt to connect your IDX Broker account to IXACT Contact.
  4. Choose Create Account to create your new IXACT Contact account.
  5. On the next screen, either continue straight into the IXACT onboarding wizard, or select Done to pick it up later.

This create-account step only happens the first time. After that, selecting the IXACT tab in Middleware takes you straight into your existing IXACT Contact account.


2. Set up your Agent Website: Getting Started

Once you're in IXACT Contact, go to Agent Website in the left-hand menu (or Account Settings > IXACT Contact Agent Website) and click Set Up Your IXACT Contact Agent Website. This opens the setup wizard, which walks you through 3 steps.

In Step 1: Getting Started:

  • Browse the Modern Designs and Legacy Designs galleries. Use Enlarge or Demo Site to preview a design, then click it to select it.
  • Under Choose your domain name, pick either Register a new domain (a flat annual fee applies) or I have an existing domain name.
  • Click Next Step.

3. Set up your Agent Website: IDX Options

In Step 2: IDX Options, you'll see IDX package options (No IDX / IDX Standard / IDX Professional) along with pricing information and a place to enter your MLS System/Association, Agent ID, and Office ID.

Because your IDX package and fees were already selected and paid through IDX Broker, you can disregard the pricing shown on this screen. 

Click Next Step.

4. Set up your Agent Website: Launch Your Website

In Step 3: Launch Your Website:

  • Enter your Website Title — appears at the top of every page and in Google search results. Use your name or your company/team name (e.g., "John Smith" or "ABC Realty").
  • Choose your Pre-loaded Content version: Individual Agent Version (first person: "I"/"me") or Team Version ("we"/"us"). Either way, your site comes pre-loaded with professionally written real estate content you can customize later.
  • Fill in your Personal Information: email address, first and last name, phone number, and company name.
  • Click Create Website.

5. Confirmation and next steps

You'll land on a confirmation page letting you know IXACT is building your site. Shortly after, you'll receive an automated email (subject line “Your IXACT Contact Agent Website is Ready”) with instructions for your IXACT website control panel — note this is a separate login from both your IDX Broker login and your IXACT Contact CRM login.

Important Information:

  • If you selected Register a New Domain: your domain typically starts working within 2–4 hours, though it can occasionally take up to 72 hours.
  • If you selected I have an existing domain: you will need to log in to your website provider and update your DNS settings so that your domain points to the IXACT Contact name servers. Instructions and name server information are included in your IXACT Contact Agent Website welcome email.

Verify It Worked

In IXACT Contact, go to Account Settings > Agent Website. You should see "Congratulations on setting up your IXACT Contact agent website!" along with your Website Preview URL, Website Domain, Website Status (Active), IDX Package, and IDX Status. Use the link there to log in to your website control panel and start customizing colors, layout, banner, and content.

Common Issues

  • I updated my DNS settings but my domain isn't working yet. Normal — allow up to 72 hours. In the meantime, use the Preview URL link to log in to your website control panel and keep customizing.
  • My IDX Status shows Pending. Your MLS's real listings won't display until MLS approval is complete; demo listings show in the meantime.
  • I made website changes before my domain went live — did I lose them? No — customizations save to your Preview URL first and carry over automatically once your domain is live. MLS approval isn't required to customize your website or IDX settings.
  • I don't see an IXACT tab in Middleware. This means IXACT isn't part of your current package — contact support to confirm your bundle.
  • Do I need to "Create Account" every time I log in? No — that step only applies the first time you connect IDX Broker to IXACT Contact.
