The IMPress for IDX Broker WordPress plugin can automatically create a dynamic wrapper for your IDX pages. To create a dynamic wrapper, make sure you have the latest version of the IMPress plugin installed.
Need the plugin? Follow these instructions to install the IMPress for IDX plugin.
Step 1 - General Settings
In your WordPress Dashboard, click on IMPress and select General Settings to view the plugin settings.
Step 2 - Add Your IDX Broker API Key
To find your API key, login to your IDX Broker account. Click on Home and Access Control.
Enter your API key in the box below Connect Your IDX Broker Account and click the Refresh Plugin Options button. This is what connects your IDX account to your WordPress site.
Step 3 - Create Your Global Wrapper
To create a global dynamic wrapper all you need to do is specify a name in the box below Create Your Global Website Wrapper. After entering a name scroll down and click Save.
By default, the name of your dynamic wrapper is used in the title tag of your IDX Broker pages so we recommend choosing something simple and relevant to your pages like "Property Search".
Step 4 - Manage Your Wrapper
After you create a Global Wrapper it is stored in the Wrappers tab of the IMpress plugin. Click on the Wrapper you want to edit. You can rename the wrapper, add content, and choose which IDX page you want to apply the Wrapper to. By Default, when you create a Wrapper in Step 3 the Wrapper will be applied Globally (to all IDX pages). If you want to create a different Wrapper for each type of IDX page e.g. Search, Results, Details, you simply need to create a new Wrapper and change the Apply Wrapper to IDX Pages field to the specific IDX page.
Posts, not Pages
The IMpress plugin creates a custom post type to automatically create wrappers within WordPress.
The Wrapper custom post type has many advantages such as:
- Keeping wrappers separate from regular pages, thus preventing them from getting accidentally deleted.
- Including No Index, No Follow tags so the IDX Pages are indexed, not the wrappers.
- Can be applied directly to a specific IDX page from within WP without having to visit Middleware.
- Has several default styles applied such as removing the post title, timestamp, and pagination for many popular themes.
- Creating a global wrapper simply requires a name and to hit the save button on the General Settings tab.
For more information about the Global Wrapper see this article.
For more information about Category, Page, and Saved Link wrappers see this article.
To make an existing page or post a wrapper, you can add a shortcode from the plugin. Just select the IDX wrapper tags to insert.

Alternatively, you can create Dynamic Wrapper pages without using the IMPress plugin. You do this by creating a page in WordPress and adding the IDX Start and Stop HTML tags. You can add this shortcode [idx-wrapper-tags] which will add the tags for you.
Should you experience any issues with your Dynamic Wrapper pages please follow the wrapper troubleshooting tips before contacting support.
Note: The source page for your Dynamic Wrapper must be published and live in order for our system to recognize it and use this to wrap your IDX pages.
